These are the cupcakes that I made and donated to my daughter's Brownie group who were having their very own Coffee Evening to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. :D It was a wonderful evening and a really great turn out; all the brownies were fantastic, they were running the stalls, tending to patrons, tidying up and helping sell the raffle tickets. Lots of people had donated cakes; there were big ones, little ones, sweetie ones and marbled ones, we even had some cookies in there too. ;) It was a lovely get together, a bit of a giggle and a good way to raise funds for such a worthwhile cause. Well today is the Key103 Big Bake Day where listeners are required to bake cakes and sell them to help raise funds for the local charity Cash for Kids. Although I didn't manage to make cakes to sell, I did manage to make my daughter's Graffiti birthday cake and donate to a worthwhile cause. The hills are alive with the sound of baking, and Mary Berry does a beautiful rendition of the song along with her fellow counterparts Paul Hollywood, Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins. Wow, how is this for talented..... Lara has recently made the above cake to celebrate the Defender model it took her over 150 hours to make and was so heavy it had to be delivered by forklift truck! Her other creations include a cake made in the shape of a car engine for the Jaguar Land Rover plant and her talents also extend to making a lifelike creation of Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow and other celebrities. All in all, she is very talented! Well done Lara. :D

I was recently over in New York on a business trip and was lucky enough to stop by the Cake Boss Cafe in New York. :D Here a few of the pics as a taster for you... The sun seems to be radiating on me! I only managed to get outside on day one but did finally get inside on day two, hence the different outfits! The American Baking and Sweets show is back again this year and is being held at the Renaissance Schaumberg Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois.
