We managed to go to the Lowry at the weekend and check out the Waterside Market which has been advertised. We had fun getting there as there were no trams running but there was a replacement bus service had been provided. It's been a while since I've been on a bus and Han wanted to sit at the front upstairs! When we arrived the market appeared to be a lot smaller than we had anticipated, however what was on offer was quite lovely. We had cheese, chutney, curd, truffles, fudge, curry, pictures sweets and a few other bits and bobs to have a look at. Han of course took some pics and got that up close and personal she nearly ended up in the cheese bucket! Here are a some photo's of the market, I'm not sure whether there will be...
Here is the hilarious write up of the fun that Linda and I had when she took me for afternoon tea! Linda surprised me on my first Guest Slot at Salford College with a gift voucher for my birthday which was for a champagne afternoon tea. I have to confess that when she gave it to me I never actually read the voucher and went on assumption rather than fact. This will become clear shortly! Linda had booked the 'afternoon' prior to my second guest slot lesson in which I was teaching the ladies some Easter designs. She agreed to pick me up from my mum's house and then chauffeur me to the Lowry or so I thought. For those of you that know Manchester you will be aware that there is The Lowry Outlet Mall and The Lowry Hotel. So when Linda said...
We recently had the pleasure of meeting the amazing Ashley who works in The Kitchen at the Hard Rock Hotel Universal Resort. She happily posed for this pic so that I could show you all the wonderful desserts they have to offer. Feast your eyes on the piece of cake that's next to Ashley's hand! This is a picture of the seven layer cake they have available! :D Every cake lovers dream! (I like cake but even I couldn't get through that much)!
Well, it's Shrove Tuesday today or which we generally refer to as Pancake day....so the pancakes are out in force today with sweet ones, savoury ones to downright crazy ones! Although I'm not a lover of English pancakes we did have pancakes for breakfast, albeit the shop-bought imitation ones. Lol! My favourite is real American ones with citrus fruits and maple syrup....mmm delicious! So my question to you is Pancake or not to Pancake? (Did you have them or didn't you?) Here are ours.
This so sounds like my idea of heaven and hopefully one day I will be able to attend. :D Here are all the details for you:- America's Baking and Sweets Show is being held at the Convention Center Chicago Illinois on Friday 15th - Sunday 17th November 2013 and Celebrities of this event are Duff Goldman, Gale Gand and Geraldine Randlesome. I'm going to try and think up ways I can attend this! ;) How amazing are these!
As part of the upcoming National Cake Week Eccles town centre near Manchester will be hosting their very own Eccles Cake Festival in October! There will be a host of exciting things going on in the week with everything from competitions, arts & crafts to walks and market stalls etc. So why not join in the fun! Eccles Cakes are named after the English town of Eccles although it is uncertain who in fact invented the recipe. James Birch is credited with being the first person to sell Eccles cakes on a commercial basis, which he sold from his shop at the corner of Vicarage Road and St Mary’s Road (now known as Church Street) in the town centre, in 1793.
