So Han and I have been out Ice Skating today and neither of us fell over which is a triumph in itself! After about 30 minutes of being there and hanging on to the edge all the way around I finally got my groove back.
We met up with the lovely Linda (my teaching partner) and her grandchildren.
It has been about 25 years since I last ventured on the ice and there was a lovely lady there who got out of my way and praised me for sticking with it and building up my courage. I nearly knocked her partner flying, but we won't get into that!
We had great fun, and I love the big polar bears they have that you can push around on the ice. You hold onto the handlebars on its ears, and it keeps you steady while you are going around. They're weighed down, so you don't fall over. Han wouldn't touch one because I think they would ruin her street cred, so she stayed around the edge and built up her speed. I forgot that moisture and my hair don't mix well, so I looked liked I had been electrocuted by the time we got out of there, I didn't have a brush in the car either, so it was Sideshow Bob hair all the way home! :tongueclosed:
Fun day though and will most definitely do it again, I was at the mercy of Sat Nav that wasn't up to date with the new road they have built but neither was Google when I viewed it. Well, we made it there and back in one piece so pretty much a good day.
