I think it's a dead hard drive, everything OK on Friday Saturday turn on and things not good. There is a picture and thread about it on the eightforum under the General Tab, the thread is Notebook can't boot.

Spoke to the Asus people and have the RMA number, just waiting for the courier to come and pick it up. I do miss it already, I'm stuck down the other end of the bungalow again on my own, although it does mean I'm on the 22" monitor again but Windows 7 instead 8 now for a while.

Today I'm have actually realised how many jobs I do which entail using electricity, the power is due to go off shortly so I'm trying to avoid using it but it's actually quite difficult. I have prepared though and have filled a flask with hot water ...well I can't live without a brew!

Well today is also a non-starter as apparently the electricity is going off today . It didn't go off yesterday, I think somebody (mentioning no names ) got the date wrong.

Aren't I the lucky one, got it back Friday lunchtime so have spent most of the day playing, they put a new mainboard in. I'm really impressed with the service.

I've been a busy bee today prepping for tomorrows workshop and doing my charity cakes as promised for Susan Clark who is raising money for Bolton Hospice with her work colleagues. Well done Sue! Hannah's even managed to do a mini lesson with me so I will post the pics of that along with the ones of my workshop once they have been taken, I've also still got lots of paperwork to do!

Has it been a hard week? It's been a very busy one for me but well worth it. Today I have woken up to sunshine which is always a good thing..................it was as I made the best chocolate cake ever, although me and Hannah still cannot agree on a name for it.
