Egg TIPS (1 Viewer)

Store eggs point side DOWN!

Eggs on the bottom of a bowl of water are FAB to use!

Eggs that stand up on the bottom of a jug of water are good.

Eggs that are floating are rubbish and should not be used.

Thank you for your tips, just to let you know that the reason why eggs are supposed to be pointy side down is because there is an air pocket between the inner and outer shell which enlarges when the egg loses it's moisture. So by storing the egg point side down or blunt (round) end up you are keeping the egg yolk centred which prevents the air pocket from rupturing which would cause it to spoil sooner.

So in a nutshell eggs stay fresher for longer if you keep them pointy side down. :D

Yes, I remember learning about eggs and the air pockets inside of them ages ago!

That's a great tip, I didn't know that one, I know when I'm boiling them I always prick the rounded end before putting them into the boiling water although sometimes it's a bit difficult knowing the round for the point on some eggs. :)

They have air pockets so that the baby chicks inside them can breathe if there is a chick inside the egg.
