Is thankful it's Friday after a busy old week, also happy to see new members joining the site and looking forward to my workshop on Monday. :D

Hello, well what a busy week we have been having so far.

Yes we have enjoyed another fabulous workshop on Monday this one being of the spooky variety. Then it was batten down the hatches on Tuesday when the tail end of Gonzalo hit. Crikey I didn't even get my brolly out for that, I was concerned I would take off and fly away like Dorothy! Lucky for us we missed the huge tree branch dropping on our car, unfortunately it dropped on the poor ladies car a few minutes ahead of us! Bless her, it must have frightened her half to death.

Now it's Wednesday and the weather is still pants and my shoulders seem to be permanently attached to my ears and I'm currently working behind the scenes for the exciting times ahead.

I also received an email today regarding my advert that is now being shown on the SLS website so that make for a very happy me! :dinesh:

Now off onto mother duties, snuggles and reading, sheesh I never stop! ;)

Enjoy your evening!

A Guy

Hi guys, hope you are well. Joan are you busy getting ready for the Halloween birthday celebrations. As for Bill well he's always dressing up. Lol!
No dressing up for me sadly, not been to good lately. Kelly has everything in control they're having a small gathering on Friday his birthday then he's having a big party at a local adventure place, they do themed parties and most of their friends around here go there it's a popular place for birthdays. :)

Oh Joan, I thought you may still be a little under the weather. I do hope you get fighting fit soon. Bill, love the outfit, that's funny! Have a fangtastic day!

Thanks Angie, getting fighting fit is something I'd love to be able to achieve but I'm afraid it's not going to happen, the coughing trying to clear the mucus has caused a prolapse and it's still not clear.

I phoned Connor this morning to wish him a Happy Birthday, he was so excited and was chattering away telling me all the things he'd got half the time I couldn't understand what he was saying because he was so excited. :D I asked him if he was having a party and he told me he was but not till Saturday, he told me he'd got a badge from me and wanted to know if I was going to go trick and treating with him. I said no I couldn't walk for that, his reply was "get Grandad to bring you in the car" :roflmao:

His brother came on the phone then and was just as excited telling me all about the Halloween decorations they had around the place. :D

No doubt I'll get to see lots of photo's from his birthday today and party tomorrow. ;)

Oh Joan, that's not good, I wish you well and a speedy recovery. Han's now full of a cold and barking, we are currently on snot bubbles every time she sneezes, bless her.

I hope Connor has a fabulous party tonight, as for the trick or treating, you've gotta love kids, they have an answer for everything. smart boy and even better spooky party. I bet everyone wants to be on his guest list. :D

Just taking 5 minutes break to get my breath back, I'm in the middle of re-cording a Roman blind from the kitchen window. It's about 6' wide so a lot of cord to thread. ;)

At first I thought you meant recording not re-cording when I first read lol! See you are such a busy bee, I have no idea how you re-cord something, I would end up putting it in the bin and starting again. Either that or I would tie myself in knots!

We seem to be having one of those weeks though, my couch is now finally fixed, but my washer broke and poured water all over my floor on Monday so I'm waiting for a new one to arrive. Hopefully tomorrow the bathroom saga will finally end and I've been to Tesco 3 times today to get stuff for tomorrow evening.

We are doing the whole fireworks, potato ash, ginger cake etc, but we forgot the fireworks on the first run, then I realised after the second run that I didn't have treacle or bicarbonate of soda for my ginger cake so I ended up back out again to get that!

All is good now so I can put the potato ash in the slow cooker first thing tomorrow, and then do the baking, whilst waiting for a tiler and my delivery. It's going to be a busy day me thinks. ;)

It's all done and back up at the window, just have to get a cord acorn to thread all the cords through. The cord that was on the blind originally was very thin so over time one of them had snapped and the others were starting to fray in places. Got the new cord from Amazon and a bundle cost me £2.50 with no postage, it's twice as thick and there's enough left to probably thread part of the blind again.:D

It was only a cheap one from Argos but it serves it's purpose, we used to have a roller blind there but because it's over the sink the rising hot water when running the taps had caused the tube inside the blind to bend so making it awkward to rise it up and down. :(

I think I made a good job of it even though I'm paying for it, getting out of breath more and keep going into cramp, never mind worth it cheaper than having to buy another blind. :)

Stop! you're making me dizzy thinking of all that work you've got to do. How is Han, has her cold cleared up yet ?

It's delicious Bill, very tasty especially adding brown sauce and a little white pepper to it and then dunk in some big chunky bread. Fireworks are for the gun powder treason and plot relating to Guy Fawkes who tried to blow up parliament in the 1600's.

Well the Potato ash is in the slow cooker, the ginger cake is baked as are the cake pops which look like chocolate apples. The fireworks are bought so just have to wait for the parents to arrive this evening oh and tidy the kitchen! Wish me luck.

You wouldn't have wanted to be him though Bill. ;)

Just had another visit from the doctor so after he's been back to the surgery and found out what I had last time, it was a different doctor today, he was going to fax through to the chemist more steroids and antibiotics for them to deliver out to me tomorrow. Got to increase the amount I take of one of the others as well and try to finally clear things out, he did say the Osteoporosis didn't help matters.

Hope Han is feeling better Angie, did she manage to watch any fireworks ?

No Bill you wouldn't have wanted to be 'A Guy' on the top of a bonfire! Ouch! Han is feeling a lot better Joan, the cold seems to have shifted but the cough is still lingering.

I do hope your germs look for a new home soon and leave you be, it seems ages now, hopefully this new bout of steroids and antibiotics will do the trick.

As for us yes we had bonfire night, my Mum and Dad came up and we watched fireworks in the garden, Han and John had Hot Dogs for tea as they don't like potato ash, that's when Han managed to get Tomato Sauce all over her socks while John was in charge, I was upstairs but just heard the laughter from the kitchen.

Here are some of the pics from last night, they aren't great but you get the jist.

Here's my potato ash and ginger cake, we also had big chunky bread to dunk in the ash! Mmmmmm delicious, so much so my Dad took the remaining ash for his dinner the next day and half a ginger cake.

These were the fireworks we eventually got after all the faffing at Tesco, Han got Sparklers this year. I don't like them but Han had asked John for some, they weren't actually that bad, they don't sparkle half as much as the ones we had as kids.

Fireworks and a Happy Han!

Bonfire 4.jpg Bonfire 5.jpg
My Mum Dad and Han, you can just make out my Dad, he said this pic reminds him of the Bohemian Rhapsody video when they are all lit up. Lol!

It was a great night and a safe one too!

Very happy and great memories especially for the fact my mum couldn't work her phone and just couldn't take any pictures! We laughed so much!

:roflmao:

Looks like fun was had by all, Han looks very happy with her sparkler.

Just waiting for John to come back with my prescription, honest I think our surgery gets worse.

Phoned the chemist this morning to check if they'd got it from the doctors, no they hadn't but if I phoned the doctor quick and get them to fax it over it would catch the delivery for today. Phoned the surgery and explained the situation and she said she would speak to the doctor, I left it at that thinking everything would be fine. Just after 2 still no meds so I phoned the Chemist and they'd had nothing from the doctors.
Back on the phone to the doctors and they had nothing, she did say they'd had one 3 days ago which I should have got, I told her yes I'd got that one but that I'd had a home visit from the doctor yesterday and after checking back at the surgery he would fax over the prescription to the chemist. Anyway she was going to speak to him shortly, he had a patient with him at the time, she phoned me back to tell me she had it and would fax it to the chemist so it could be picked up.
