Lol! You two do make me laugh, yes, we had a lovely day. We're now on half term, so Han's home, and we're working around her schedule at the minute. I managed to get a few things done last week before she finished, so this week will be a little hit-and-miss. She's doing her homework at the minute, so I have five minutes to myself at the mo. I was hoping to go out for a walk but it's chucking it down outside, and I've just washed my hair, so that's definitely a no-no.

Well, I've been damaging myself today. I'm always worried about Willow going in the airing cupboard because the former fireplace was an open fire with a back boiler for the hot water.

When central heating was installed the back boiler was removed and a new fireplace was fitted but it meant that it left an opening at the back of where the fireplace is in the airing cupboard. It doesn't show through but I'm always worried that as Willow is small and very curious she might try to get into the gap and get stuck.

So far I've managed to keep her out but I was out of luck today. There are problems with the system and I'm waiting for the plumber to get a replacement part so I'm having to fiddle about with the old part so I can get hot water. I was checking it out today and looked down to see Willow trying to go into the cupboard, I was so busy trying to stop her that I gashed my arm on the door fastener. It's made a bit of a mess and along with a very large bruise there is a gash that was bleeding and her ladyship disappeared. I managed to get her out by calling her and banging the walls and out she came covered in cobwebs. :eyeroll:
It was after she came out I felt a trickle down my arm and found out it was bleeding. :eyeroll:

Oh no! Did you manage to bandage and clean yourself up okay? I bet she won't do that again in a hurry. How long will it be until they sort out your hot water?

Just to change the subject slightly but have any of you guys seen this on Netflix?

I started to binge-watch it, then got told off by Han because I'd watched it without her. I've only got halfway through the series, but I can't help but watch one after the other. It's so fascinating!

Yes I sorted myself out Angie. :)

Not seen that trailer, something else I'll have to go and sort out, thank you, can you get me some more hours while you're finding these shows. :lmao:

I have no fancy schmancy movie channels :)

Wow, that was a bit weird. Yeah, I'm not a fan of moving pictures. :look: Han liked it though. 🙂

@Joan, I need some of them hours myself, I've been so unproductive today it's been unreal. Other than doing Spanish with Han I've barely gotten anything done.

I'll still watch my Crocs in a bit though. :lmao:

Well, I don't want a couple of days like I've just had. Got the doctor to come out to me yesterday to check my legs, he decided he wanted me in hospital where he said they would put me on a drip to pump out the excess fluid and sort out my blood pressure and I'd be in for a couple of days, asked me if I could sort out a lift which I did and he said he would sort out the documents and they would get them before I got there.

Doing it that way would mean I'd go in quicker without all the waiting around in A&E. After getting there in the early afternoon I was stuck for several hours in A&E and they never received any paper work from the surgery. They took a couple of blood samples and sent me for a chest x-ray then after another wait told me I could go home, they said the blood samples where fine and they weren't that worried about my blood pressure but I was to stop taking the pills that were for that and they gave me water tablets.

I asked how I was going to get home and was told they were sorting that out and in the end decided to send me home in a taxi which the hospital would pay for but it would be about 40 minutes before it was there. Taxi came and I was off only to arrive home about midnight and not about to get in as it appeared the handle to the door finally gave up the ghost and the door couldn't be opened. I started to phone Kelly to see if they could come and get me but the taxi driver said he would take me to them. Spent the night there and when they bought me home this morning we got a locksmith out who it turned out to be a friend of Peter's.

He managed to get me back in but said that you couldn't get the handles anymore because they were so old and you had to buy the whole lock unit, they were the most expensive ones around. I had to phone my landlord and he told me to get back onto the locksmith and get the job done. I gave the locksmith my landlords number so they could sort it out and he came round to check up and make sure he ordered the correct things, the landlord had just told him to get on within and put a new lock in. It should hopefully be sorted out by the weekend.

I'm famished because I got nothing to eat apart from a very tough ham sandwich and a small cup of warm coffee all day.

I'm now going to get my dinner done and hope to fill my poor empty belly. :eyeroll:

Poor you, you have been through it. You would have thought A&E would have contacted your doctor for the paperwork.

Then to top it all, you were lock out. The taxi driver was kind though to take you to Kelly’s. Hope you are ok now and managed to get something to eat.

Aww, bless you. We're on the Joan chronicles again aren't we? What are you like Mrs. I'm so glad you got sorted out, and the hero in this story is the nice taxi driver who had the good sense to take you to Kelly's rather than leave you stranded.

There are some nice people still in the world, I'm glad to hear. 😍

I do hope now that you're tucking into one of your yummy pre-made meals that you get along with a good stodgy pudding and a nice cup of tea. Put your feet up lovely and have a nice relaxing time watching some TV.

Wait 'til Bill hears about this. :what:

Oh he'll have a field day when he sees that lot. :lmao: I'm feeling a bit better and my eldest son gave me a Facetime call earlier to check I was alright. I'm now ready for bed to try and catch up with some sleep, if I can.

See you all tomorrow.

Not my favorite chapter of The Life of Joan :( Glad the taxi driver was kind and that you have family nearby

The locksmith has been round this morning and fitted the new lock unit. I thought it was just the part where the key and handle are but it's actually all the workings that go into the front of the door with all the locking in and out units, it's goes the full length of the door from top to bottom.

He was here longer than he thought he'd be because of the door being an old door it had dropped and it took him a long time to get it to line up.

I'm so pleased with his service and will definitely recommend him, he did a brilliant job and it's so nice to feel secure again with working locks. :loveit:

Oh, that's good, you're having such a great time with all these lovely people. 😍 I'm so glad he's got your security sorted, and you're back to being safe and well.

I've finished watching Wild Croc Territory now. I do hope they do another season of it. I managed to get Han to watch the last few episodes with me. She said she's going to watch the other ones from the beginning.

What are your plans for Halloween, Joan? I know it's one of your favourites.

By the way, do your lottery. After the week you've had, £113 million could come in handy.

Wonder how the Lock Guy compares to the Blind Guy...

I'm having a quiet time, I've had enough excitement for now, this is Connors time it's his birthday on Monday.

I don't do the lottery, well apart from the Postcode one, that supports several charities.

Aww, I hope he has a wonderful birthday.

We didn't win anything on the lottery. We only play it now and again. We used to do a syndicate at work many years ago but don't really do it that much anymore.

We have done the postcode lottery a few times but don't do that either now.

Did Connor have a nice birthday?

It's been a busy old week this week. Lots of paperwork to deal with and problems to solve, so much so the week seems to have passed me by. I was hoping to be a little bit creative, but that has been put on the back burner. However, I have managed to jot a few ideas down, so hopefully, I'll be able to start on them when I get a minute. I don't mind being busy though I prefer it.

I hope this week has been a quiet one for you, Joan.

Yes, Connor had a good day.

The nurse has been to me this morning and started on the process of sorting out my legs, they look twice their size as they are padded and bandaged up quite a bit. I have noticed that since stopping 1 pill and taking a water tablet the swelling has gone down and they look much better so I'm hoping it continues. :loveit:

Hi Joan, sorry to hear that your legs are poorly 😔 my mother in law had problems with hers and was advised to keep them raised when either sitting or lying down, this helps to drain the fluid off.
not sure if your problem is similar but thought I’d mention it.
hope you get better soon. Take care Jennie xx
