I'm super proud of Han today for passing her first GCSE exam. She got a fabulous mark, and hopefully, this will be a sign of things to come. She takes the rest of them next year!
I totally agree, Joan; Bill brings the fun factor! I actually went on a Google mission yesterday trying to hunt down the abs bread that he posted. I eventually found the bakery, and to be honest, there was a bit of an interesting story behind the baker, so I think I'll put it in a thread in the news section.
Sounds interesting. It was Caia's 7th birthday yesterday, Kelly did a Facetime so I could wish her a Happy Birthday and she did another this morning as she wanted to show off having her ears pierced.
Yes she was, I think she was a little upset but Kelly said she'd forgotten how loud the gun was right next to your ear when it's pieced so that's probably why.
Kelly was 5 when she had her's done we'd gone on a day trip with the local Sailors and Soldiers club to Skegness so she had them done there. I was 15 when I had mine done, clip-on earrings made my ears bad and as I'd left school and I was working I paid to have them pierced.
The good thing is they forget very easily when they're younger. I had mine done when I was younger but not as young as seven. Lol! Clip-on earrings, wow, that's a blast from the past. I had a bright ruby red pair with a big red ball type necklace. It was a set; I remember the clip-on earrings used to really pinch your ears.
Lol! I can't believe I've just found a pic of the necklace!
Those are too plain for me, I've always loved sparkle, still do. When I had my ears pierced my Mum and Dad bought me a set, it was a necklace with bells which were covered in marcasite with a pair of earrings with the same bells. The first pair of earrings went missing so I had another pair made from a pair of the necklace bells, then they got taken and I've just found the necklace with just 3 of the bells left and no earrings.
I had to look up what 'marcasite' was as I'd never heard of it before. That's great that you managed to get multiple sets out of the set your parents bought you. Would you still wear them now if you had the full set?
I'm not much for bling; I never have been really. It took me back, though when you mentioned the clip-ons.
I can't believe you still have a partial set, they must be classics by now.
I would definitely wear them, I had thought about having another 2 of the bells turned into earrings but the jury's still out on that one. This is the necklace I think you can tell where the missing bells went.
