Lightly score the centre of the pastry with your palette knife. (This is so you know where to 'Nutella' up to).

Take one scoop of Nutella and place it on the pastry. Tip - Stir the Nutella in the pot first; this softens it, making it easier to spread.

Spread it out using a palette knife.

Then take another scoop of Nutella and spread it across the pastry.

Ensure you cover it to the edges.

Now, fold the plain half of the pastry over the Nutella spread.

Slice the Nutella-covered pastry into strips about 1 cm—1.5 cm wide.

Now, to the fun bit. Take one of the cut strips and hold the edges in your fingertips.

Twist your left hand towards you and your right hand away from you.

Continue this twisting process.

You will start to see the pastry becoming tighter.

Once it's twisted, place it on the kitchen surface and spiral into a circle.

Ensure you tuck the edge up against the nest.

This is a twisted nest, and the strip is side-on, so you can see how thick the Nutella is.

Repeat this process with the remaining strips and place them on the baking paper with spaces in between.

Lightly brush the tops of the pastry with milk. This helps with browning.

Then sprinkle a little sugar over the tops for added crunchiness.

Place them in the middle of the oven and bake for approximately 10 -12 Minutes or until lightly golden and the pastry has puffed up. I baked mine for 10 minutes.

Carefully remove the baking tray/nests from the oven with oven gloves, leave them on the baking paper, and slide them onto a wire rack.

Allow to cool.

Once the nests have cooled, lightly dust them with icing sugar.

Then add a blob or pipe a small whirl in the middle of the nest.

The Nutella doesn't hold its shape very well, so I tried a swirl on the first one and then just squeezed and pushed down with the 1M nozzle on the second one to give me enough Nutella for the Mini Eggs.

Apply two or three mini eggs in the centre of the nest.

I then placed mine on a cleaned cake board and put them in my covered cake stand.

(For freshness, they're best eaten on the day of baking.) The smell of Nutella that wafts from the lid when it is opened is unbelievable.

My daughter loves these. These Nutella Nests are day two after being kept on the cake stand. They are still quite fresh.

I do hope you have a play about with these.

Enjoy, and Happy Easter!
