How to make Ginger Biscuits
Preheat your oven to 200 Degrees or Gas Mark 6/7
1. Place the following in a mixing bowl:
75 grams or 3 oz Butter or Margarine
75 grams or 3 oz Soft Brown Sugar
2-3 Tablespoons of Golden Syrup
Whisk together until combined and smooth.
2. The add
200 grams or 8 oz Plain flour
1 Level Teaspoon of Baking Powder
1 Level Teaspoon of Bicarbonate of Soda
½ or ¾ Teaspoon of Ground Ginger
Push mix together with the back of a wooden spoon until it has combined.
3. Then remove from bowl and roll out on a lightly dusted plain floured surface and cut into shapes using cookie cutters.
4. Place in the middle of the oven and cook for 8-10 mins until golden.
N.B. Make sure you watch the biscuits, as they cook very quickly and can easily burn, I know because I burnt the first batch!
