I have recently been sent these Castle Chocolatiers Chocolate Drops to be reviewed and had great fun testing them out to see what they can do. With the bag being 2.5 kg in weight, it's allowed me to make many products and discover how versatile the chocolate really is.

The packaging consists of sturdy brown paper to the exterior and is silver lined on the interior to keep the freshness of the chocolate drops.​

Chocolate Drops

How do I use the chocolate drops?​
I placed some of the drops into a piping bag and melted them in the microwave.​

I did this in 30-second bursts and checked each time until it had melted. (So as not to burn the chocolate).​

This piping bag took 2 minutes in total to melt fully.​

Flavour and Taste

What does the chocolate taste like?​
  • Melts in the Mouth
  • Smooth Consistency
  • Hint of Vanilla
  • Reminds me of Easter Egg Chocolate

Consistency

What is the consistency of the chocolate when it's melted?​
  • The consistency was easy to control, meaning I could write, paint, mould and drizzle with ease.
  • It can also be re-melted and reused after it hardens in the piping bag.

Decorations

What can you make/do with the chocolate drops?​

Once melted, there are numerous things you make/do with the chocolate. The first thing I did was drizzle with it.​

Once set, the chocolate is strong enough to hold its shape on the buttercream.​

Then I painted with it.​

I then looked at making multiple decorations with it to see how durable it was.​

I then made some lollipops, miniature chocolate bars.​
