Avengers Pre Cut Cupcake Toppers by AK Giftshop Review
Here are a few examples of the colourful cupcake toppers and the Avengers Cupcake Toppers I recently bought from AK Giftshop on Amazon. Not only were they vibrant and cheery, but they were also conveniently pre-cut too! Although this review is predominantly for the Avengers cupcake toppers, I thought it only fair to show you a few of the other sets I bought and the quality they offer. This is so you can see firsthand the level of quality they bring. Product Packaging/Delivery The sheets were sent out in a sealed, sturdy envelope. Each pack of cupcake toppers were packaged in a cellophane see-through sleeve with a piece of card in each to help keep the toppers flat. Product Care/Instructions The instructions displayed on the...
Leopard Print Edible Cake Wrap - Sugar Fables - Review
I found the leopard print edible cake wrap while searching for a unique cake covering for one of my daughter's 18th birthday cake tiers. It isn't something I've ever used before and is a new product to me that I haven't yet tried. After ordering the cake wrap from Sugar Fables on Etsy, here are my insights into the product. Product Packaging/Delivery Victoria, the seller, notified me when the package had been dispatched. The sheets were sent in an A4 Do Not Bend Envelope. The leopard print edible cake wrap sheets were packaged separately inside a cellophane see-through sleeve and had backing sheets on each. Product Care The instructions inside explain clearly how to use the product. Where to store it. How to get the best out of the...
PME Infinity Multicutter Review - Thin Stripes Set of 2
Always on the lookout for new decorating tools, I came across these PME Inifinity Multicutters recently and thought I would give them a whirl. Now I do have similar cutters by a different brand. However, these are larger than the ones I have, and add to that, there are two different sizes in the packet; they were definitely worth a try. Product Care/Instructions There are no product care instructions on the packaging. However, I washed these in hot soapy water and allowed them to air dry before use. The only information listed on the front of the packaging is the name Infinity Multicutter and the word 'Thin', and then Strip Cutter & Stamp underneath. These are the thin range, as they also do another set called Thick which has wider...
Saracino Modelling Paste Review
I have recently started using Saracino Paste for some of my modelling work on the site and thought it would be a good idea to review it. The paste is available in numerous colours and is made in Italy. Packaging & Weight The paste is contained in a plastic bag in a clear tub. It can be re-sealed after each use to keep airtight. The above tubs are 1Kg in weight. When you remove the paste from the tub, it is covered in a plastic bag. The paste itself is a solid block, so to remove smaller chunks, I cut into it with a knife. I then re-covered the remaining paste and re-sealed it back into the tub. How to Use Once you have a smaller piece, knead and warm it between your hands, this softens the paste allowing it to become pliable...
Makins USA Texture Sheets Review
It's always good to have an array of patterns and embossers in your decorating box, so I recently tried out these textured sheets made by the USA company Makins. They are a quick and easy way of adding patterns and textures to your cakes/cupcakes, and there are lots of designs to choose from too. Predominantly the sheets are marketed for clay. However, you can just as easily use them for cake decorating. All you have to do is wash them in soapy water, rinse them and leave them to air dry before use. As I will only be using them for food, there is no contamination with any other products. Packaging and Contents There are four textured sheets contained in the pack. These are sealed in a cellophane packet with a cardboard interior...
FMM Splat Shape Cutter Review
Here are the two-pack splat shape cutters by FMM. These are great for a multitude of projects and very easy to use. So if you're looking for a unique splash shape/paint splatter in super quick time, then it's worth checking out the following review. Product Packaging The cutters are packaged in a see-through plastic fronted cardboard box. Product Care/Instructions There are full instructions on the reverse of the packaging telling you how to use the cutters. The packaging advises you should wash them before use. (I hand washed them in hot soapy water, rinsed them, and left them to air dry. I have also washed them in the top tray of the dishwasher, and they came out fine). The cutters can be used with icing/fondant, but it does say...
Stampers Anonymous Layering Stencil Review - Lace THS034 Design
I have just discovered a stencil that I purchased a while back and thought I would add it to my list of reviews. The Tim Holtz collection from Stampers Anonymous has multiple stencil designs and is based in the USA; I'm currently reviewing the Lace THS034 design that I purchased in the UK. Product Packaging The stencil is covered with a good quality cellophane sleeve and has a sturdy cardboard insert to prevent warping. Product Care/Storage There are no washing instructions on the packaging, but this is due to the stencil being geared more towards drawings and crafts. I hand washed the stencil and then dried it using kitchen towel. It's easy to store and doesn't take up much room. Quality/Colour The stencil is a bright white...
Decora Set of 4 Rectangular Tagliapasta Cookie Cutters Review
I've been looking at updating some of my shape cutters recently and came across these rectangular ones from the Decora range. There are four different sizes in the pack, and they can be used for a multitude of projects such as biscuits, cookies, and cake decorating shapes, to name but a few. Product Packaging The cookie cutters arrived in a good quality plastic box, which keeps them intact. Product Care The instructions on the packaging state that the cutters should be washed before use. It does not say whether they are dishwasher safe; however, I washed them in the dishwasher's top knife and fork drawer, and they came out fine. Quality/Colour The cutters are a bright orange colour. They're easily visible. They're made from...
Black Acrylic Number Topper Review
This black acrylic number topper was just the ticket for my recent Harry Potter Slytherin inspired cake that I made for my daughter's birthday. I don't tend to put black decorations on my cake and usually opt for more vibrant colours; however, as the colours of the Slytherin cake were grey, green, black and brown, this topper was exactly what I needed. Product Packaging The black acrylic 16 topper came stuck to a large piece of sturdy cardboard with a label attached stating the instructions of use. Product Care The instructions state that the topper is covered in a plastic coating which should be removed. It also advises that the topper can be washed in hot soapy water but is not dishwasher safe. Plastic Coating Removal...

So I'm back trying more of the Artisan's Choice Products, only this time we're reviewing the Plain Crème Cake Mix. Artisan's Choice Extra Moist Chocolate Muffin Mix Review
Having never used any of the cake mixes currently on the market, I was eager to try out and test Artisan's Choice - Chocolate - Extra Moist Muffin Mix to see how it faired with bakes I normally make from scratch. I was sent this item for a fair and honest review so let's start putting it through its paces. Here goes... Packaging This Extra Moist Muffin Mix is in a plastic bag that is easy to wipe down on the exterior, albeit the packaging is quite large for the amount of product that's in it. However, I think they use the same bags for various other products, hence why the bag was on the large side. Labelling The label displays all the relevant information required, such as: Ingredients Allergy Advice Storage Item Code Weight...
