Always use your fingertips when 'rubbing in' as your palms are the warmest part of your hands and can cause sticking. How do you stop your freshly baked cake from sticking to your plate or serving platter? Simple....all you need to do is lightly dust the plate or serving platter with icing or confectioners sugar before you place your cake on the plate. This acts as a buffer between the cake and the plate and prevents your cake from sticky and making a sticky cake mess. 1. Lightly dust the plate with icing sugar (confectioners sugar USA). 2. Place your cake on the plate, slice into pieces, the cake will not stick to the plate as the icing or confectioners sugar will act as a buffer between the plate and cake. 3. This is what the plate looks like after all the slices have been taken. There maybe a few crumbs but no stuck cake. Hints, Tips...
If you fancy having a go at airbrushing and you're not quite sure of your skillset, then there is a helpful way of mastering your skills before touching a cake. At least with the book, if you do it wrong, you can always start again until you get it right. This golden nugget of information was courtesy of Dawn from Dinky Doodle, she is a master with the airbrush and has created some...

If you wish to make a loaf cake last longer (well, depending on who's eating it) and stay fresher and moist, then try out this neat trick. If you slice your cake from the centre outwards, you can push both ends of the cake back to the middle, thus allowing you to keep in all the freshness and moisture. If you slice the cake from the ends, you expose the cake to the elements, and it will dry out faster, whereas when you slice from the centre, it won't. https://www.helpmebake.com/threads/how-to-make-a-banana-loaf-tutorial.575/#post-8234 Hints, Tips and Tools Basic Baking and Cake Decorating Recipes and Guides Tutorials

Can you eat that egg? - By Scott Matthews If not sure you ought-ter, then place it in water. If it lies on its side, then it's fresh; eat with pride. After three or four days, at an angle it lays. But, it still is a treat, so go on and eat. Ten days, stands on end, in your baking 'twill blend. 'Cause it's definitely edible, in your baking, incredible.
