It was with 'deep sorrow' that the Queen announced her beloved husband of 73 years, Prince Philip, sadly passed away this morning at the grand old age of 99.



He was known to be the longest-reigning consort in British History and was adored by everyone that met him.

He will be sadly missed around the world.

I was in the kitchen about 12 o'clock and heard the national anthem playing on the telly and came in to see what it was about. It showed the photo of Philip and showed the announcement, I was shocked and phoned Kelly to ask if she'd seen it, she hadn't and she was gutted.

It is so upsetting, he was a marvellous man and really was as she put it, the Queens rock and I feel so sorrow for her knowing how she must be feeling. You could see the love that was between them whenever they looked at each other.
