Summer Meeting - Mini Dems & Jam Scones BSG (1 Viewer)

This month marked our annual summer meeting, a lovely meeting where we catch up on the latest accounts, enjoy mini demonstrations, all whilst indulging in jam scones and a pot of tea.

Judith began the meeting by discussing the upcoming events and celebrating our success at the recent table show. She then gave our new members a warm welcome. Once the introductions were complete, our attention then shifted to the delicious jam, scones and strawberries that were waiting for us.

After everyone had indulged in the sweet treats, we were then treated to two fantastic demonstrations.

The first was led by Christine, who guided us through the process of creating beautiful sugar flowers using simple cutters. She took us through each step, from shaping the petals to assembling the flowers. Then, she demonstrated how to arrange a delicate spray of sugar flowers and how to bind them together before attaching them to a cake.

Here is her design.

Next, we moved over to Marion, who demonstrated how to create a novelty themed "snake-on-a-log" cupcake topper. Despite the humid weather making the icing a bit tricky, Marion managed to work her magic and shared several clever techniques. One of the highlights was using a toothbrush which added a unique touch to the toppers. We then discussed different variations of how we could make our own version of the toppers and what other ideas we had for the log.

Again, another fabulous afternoon hosted by the ladies.
