Cornflour or Icing sugar. (1 Viewer)

They each have their own uses and generally it's down to personal preference and what works best for yourself, you can use cornflour or icing sugar depending on the colours you are rolling out, as a rule of thumb I use the following:-

Pastel Colours - Either Cornflour or Icing Sugar can be used for dusting before rolling out your icing, however, using too much icing sugar can cause your icing/fondant to dry out. (Some people find that cornflour does not cause the icing to dry out as quickly).

Dark Colours - Such as red, black or blue etc - I suggest use Icing sugar. The reason being that cornflour does not absorb well into the icing and will leave you with dust marks that you cannot remove. This may spoil your final design.
