Day off today! Well, I say that, I have a mountain of washing, the boiler service guy to sort, deliveries to take and the preparation of tea for this evening. At least it will give me five minutes of sit-down time though, so I'll take it. 😍

And you call that a day off, I hope you got that sit down, with a cup of tea and a biscuit of course. 😂

That's a slow day for me, I often wonder if I wrote down everything I did in a day I'd be astounded at how much I get through without realising it. 😝

We're up at the crack of dawn at the minute, so I have lots more time to get on with stuff in the house. I managed to get some accounts done yesterday and sort through my in-tray by 10 am but what I'm most looking forward too is getting back in the office. John's pinched mine at the minute, so the kitchen table is now my new hangout.

I've got to build a new laptop table but after opening it and checking the contents there are two wheels missing.

I don't know what the proper name for them is but they're the black knobs with the threaded stem in the middle that is used to tighten up 2 tubes one inside the other.

The instructions show that the pack should have 4 of them but there is only 2 in the packet. I got in touch with the seller and sent them a photo to show them the packet and they told me that if I was prepared to wait they would send me the missing parts but as the parts came from China it would take 1 to 2 weeks.

I agreed and got the email this morning that they had put in the order and would send me the tracking number when they were dispatched.

I can build it while I wait for the parts, the one I'm using is not really safe the tilt part doesn't work anymore so I can't fix it in any position and I'm having to have it resting on the arm of my chair so I can use it without the laptop falling off.

Because somebody else would then have the same problem. 🤣

I know which bits you mean Joan, but I don't know what they're called either, they're some kind of tightener/adjuster thingies.

I'm currently perched on a really hard chair; I had no mouse this morning, so scrolling through my site was painful, and we're now modifying it. Well, I say we, John's done his coding and tick box bit so now I'm trying to go through everything page by page to amend things.

Yes that's what they are glad someone knows what I'm talking about.
Well I've built it and I'm using it now with no problems, one of the wheels on my old stand fit, the thread was longer but it worked so I've put that one on the small side portion that just has the mouse on it which means I can use the 2 I have in the place it needed 2, although I've got 1 in at the moment and it's OK.

You're modifying the site then, does that mean you'll uncover my mouth again. 🤣 I had to go and find out where you'd put the smileys from along the top of the reply box, I finally found them. 🤪

Thumb wheels...or similar

A Guy
It could be, it's not something I've had to try to describe before but a thumbwheel is as good as anything.

Apparently they are grip bolts, I put thumbwheels into Bing search then went to a place that had pictures of them, the ones that don't have the screw part are called lobe nuts, either plastic or bakelite, they have a hole in the middle with a thread. :)

Very Happy Birthday Bill, didn't realise it was your birthday today, hope you have a great day. 😘 :beercheers:🥳
