Valentine's Cupcakes - Student Creations (10/02/14)
Well, love was most certainly in the air on our Valentine's workshop, once we had got over Sue travelling forty miles in the wrong direction and turning up late bless her! Her sat nav had her going round in circles and put her back on the motorway. :huh:
I had just rolled a ball of fondant and started my dem when I got the call she was outside and ready for me to greet her. So after a few deep breaths a nice cup of tea and letting out her stresses, we finally got down to a wonderful lesson.
After showing the ladies the designs I informed them that they would have to paint the gold designs onto the icing freehand which they looked slightly perturbed by, I told them that they were quite capable of doing it as long as I showed them how to. After a few minutes, I then revealed how you really make the effect...the look of relief on their faces was priceless. I am naughty! Lol!
I paired Louise with Sue again as they are my competition queens, they had there backs to each this time so the other couldn't see the designs and creations they were each making. They are so funny and go above, and beyond the designs, I show them! They were making strawberries and then peering over their shoulders to try and get a glimpse of what the other was doing. They do make me giggle!
We had a great catch up about the new romance in the group and Christmas as I hadn't seen the ladies since the Christmas Cupcake workshop. We also talked about all things cake of course and about my baking programs and upcoming cupcake courses too.
The ladies had a great evening and managed to make some lovely heartwarming creations.
