Well, when Kelly moved out we decided to use it as a dining room instead of eating from trays on our knees in the living room. It was also used as a store room for the dry food for the birds/badgers/cats and guinea pigs plus a step ladder and my Dyson. I had 2 under counter sized freezers in there as well, we had a small 2 seater table and chairs and a small computer desk.

The different food was kept in containers on top of the desk and some boxes, well it was a tip, especially as John is not the tidiest person and he spills food all over the floor when he goes to get it to feed and doesn't bother to clean it up.

Well he'd bought himself a strong trestle table for his office to put his computers and printer on instead of different sized desks and also shelving for around the walls. He decided to get another table but not as long for the dining room, it's 6ft whereas his was 8ft and fit along one wall, this one had to be smaller because of the radiator on the other wall.

I've taken the desk into my office, I'll put the shredders on that, and have the containers on the table with large storage boxes underneath that hold the bulk of the feed and it looks so much cleaner. Oh yes I also have a 3 tier trolley in there that holds a lot of haberdashery stuff and an Aspidistra.

The room is about 10' by 8' and I'm surprised we've managed to get so much into it but needs must when you have no storage space or garage to put things. :D

Oh my word, crikey the bedroom must have been huge to get all that lot in there! Lol, you seriously have a mixed bag of stuff going on.

Our spare room seems to be taking up the slack of boxes, and other things we cannot find homes for. We need to do a tip run because quite a few huge empty boxes in there will take me forever to cut down plus they're filled with polystyrene so it's the best way to get rid of them.

I had to Google the Aspidistra, although I'm sure I've had one at some point. It's a great feeling though when you have a massive clear out and get organised. I'm still reeling from John's overhaul in his office. It's very tidy at the minute which really unnerves me as not that many days ago I wanted to beat him with a stick to get it tidy because it was absolutely just covered in clutter. Now I'm waiting for a cupboard to open and it's all going to come flying out! :lmao:

It's not that big Angie, it's OK as a single bedroom, just, but I had a lot of stuff stacked up and you couldn't move around much in there.

Well for saying my John is supposed to be sorting his office out now he's got the shelving and table it doesn't really look any clearer, he's got these storage boxes in piles in different places some with paperwork in them others still empty, mind you if he just got on with it he might have finished by now but he does a bit then doesn't do anything to it for days, grrrrrrrrrrr he's so annoying. :scream::eyeroll::D

I know Bill, have to keep the animals happy, they eat better than me.

This is the room Angie, I'm standing in the doorway.

Crikey you could start your own Pet Supplies business with all that lot! :lmao:

I take it you like Diet Coke then? Thanks for the pics, I had visions of all sorts stacked all over the place in my head but the room looks really good and very organised. So does John work in there too?

Aww look at you with all your bird feeders, we've only got one and you've got a scoop as well...such a professional, we don't have one of those.

So today I've been on a merry journey around the world and back again, I went to pick Han up from her Grandma's but for some reason, the route I normally go was blocked so I've literally been around the houses to get to her and bring her back. The weather was dire too, that drizzly rain that just swishes and soaks you but is like a fine mist so your windscreen wipers aren't sure what to do with it. I don't like it when it's drab I like the crisp cold. On the upside, though the deers were in the garden when I got back so that was nice to see.

I also heard on the radio that it's National Pasta Day today which was great as we had Spaghetti Bolognese for tea, we had it with Linguine tonight because I'd ran out of Fusilli. Ooh and I also managed to have a piece of my own cake too which is a rare event. I pre-made it a tester cake for next week to check the timing on it and it's really nice.

Those are only the ones that are in use at present Angie, I have loads more feeders for different kinds of bird food. There are fat ball feeders, suet block feeders, Peanut feeder, Niger seed feeders etc. some not in use at present and some already in use outside.

John is the Diet Coke drinker because they don't have sugar etc. so OK for him to drink because of his diabetes, those are empty boxes waiting for him to take to the tip. I'll stick to my coffee. :D

Not been raining here today just grey and miserable, not nice especially as the last few days have been sunny.

I've been idle today and not really done anything. :lmao:

Oh nearly forgot, no John doesn't work in there his office is the room on the opposite side, same size, used to be our son Stevens room.

We don't seem to get as many variations of birds here to the last garden and we only do seed here. When we had the suet balls at the last house the squirrel used to fight to get the balls out. The birds really love the suet but it went that fast it was costing a fortune so we moved over to the seed. The magpies seem to have taken a liking to it here though. :lmao:

Lol! Ah, so you have to do a tip run too, glad it isn't just us then that accumulate an array of cardboard boxes then.

It's really cold at the minute so I keep putting the heating on every ten minutes. I woke up at 6:30 am this morning so it's going to be a long day I think. I'm chilling out with Han with what is left of her half-term holidays and I've been binge-watching The Circle. We saw it mentioned on Gogglebox and have downloaded it. I never usually watch Big Brother type stuff but the clips we saw of this were quite funny. The actually series of it is a real roller coaster. It's also a massive lesson to Han to teach her that people are not always who they say they are either. It's a serious guilty pleasure.

Lol! I want pictures of Steven's room next.

We aren't getting the variety of birds now compared with when we first moved here but I think it's the same all over, there is a massive decline in the bird population going on.

A couple of years ago we lost a complete years worth of Greenfinch youngsters, next door got a disease in her garden which wiped them out and she had to stop putting feeders out for quite a while. We still put ours out but noticed just how few there were about.

It's cold here as well and my heating is on but I have a portable unit that I can control the temperature so if it's not too cold I can turn it down and the heating won't come on and vice-versus turn it up and the heating comes on.

I saw the odd trailer about the Circle but haven't watched it, got too many other things to watch. I've watched all the Harry Potter films and enjoyed them all and I'm now watching the bonus DVDs that tell you all about the making of the films, they are really interesting.

Aww wow, I didn't realise that. I'm not sure if the birds are that well camouflaged in this garden or we're just not getting them as we did. We've put the seed out but to be honest it hasn't been touched. I'm wondering if it's frozen. :(

I must admit I'm quite surprised at how much we got into The Circle, it's probably the most TV I've watched in a while, we watched the finale last night and it was a total shocker. It was very entertaining but not something I would usually go for. I'm so glad you enjoyed the Harry Potter Films, I bet it's so interesting watching how they are made, however, I like the magic of things like that so don't want to know how they do it.

Han and I watched Coco last night which is a Pixar movie, it was really good. I've got Wonder lined up on Netflix so when I get a spare hour that's the next one we're going to watch.

It's cake week this week so wish me luck! :D

Good luck with the cakes, I was just looking at the rustic one you've done and it made me drool. :yum:

We don't have the movie channels, it's too expensive for something we wouldn't watch that often, John can't stay awake to sit through one, even though he says he's not asleep just resting his eyes. :lmao:

I got the film Ferdinand on DVD and we haven't got round to watching that yet, it's finding the time, especially in the week. I watched the Potter films on Saturday and Sunday nights because after watching Strictly and then the results there is nothing I'm bothered about watching. The first couple of bonus DVDs was mainly about how the films came to be made and the casting of the stars, I mean after the first couple of films were made she hadn't even written the other books. It hasn't spoilt the films watching the behind the scenes I find it fascinating seeing the models that were built and the places they went for filming and the amount of work that went into them. I've still got 4 of them to watch. :D

Thank you, I used my test cakes for the Naked Rustic Cake. It's something I've been planning on doing for a while so whilst I had the cakes I thought I may as well do it.

Han's only watched Ferdinand in Spanish at school, so she actually wants to see the English version. The only grand scale I've seen Harry Potter on is on the rides in Florida. The train ride was good and the rides were amazing. It was a bit lost on me seeing as I haven't watched the films but the amount of detail put into the rides and the walkways was just amazing. It was really magical.

I can imagine it would be magical, I didn't realise you've not watched the films you should then you see the magic and the special effects that are
brilliant. I wasn't sure if it would be something I'd be interested in but I really enjoyed them.

How come Han saw Ferdinand in Spanish?

Han's still trying to get me to watch them. It's the length of time they're on for that puts me off that's why I haven't bothered. I remember when the first books came out and all my work colleagues were buying them. I may watch them one day but I'm not promising.

It was in her Spanish class at school, they showed the film and put English Subtitles underneath to help them get used to large amounts of fluent Spanish. She really liked it but wants to watch it in English now.

I'm sure she would love California Bill, it's on our to-do list.

@Bill

I thought that maybe it was to do with a lesson, didn't know she was taking Spanish as a language choice.

If I knew Spanish would become so common here, I'd have paid more attention in Spanish class in school

No I wouldn't :D

A Guy

Wasn't an option when I went to school we didn't have lessons for learning another language.

I started to answer you this afternoon Bill and got ½ way through the sentence when the doorbell rang, it was the delivery I'd been waiting for, yippee. I didn't manage to get back here till now and finish it. :lmao:

It was my grocery shopping delivery as well about 12pm, it's been quite a busy day with one thing and another and I'm now trying to unwind. :scream:

I would have loved to have done Spanish at school but we were only taught French, or German if you were in the top set. It was compulsory for us although I've never been to France to use my skills. I still remember a lot from back then. I'd love to be able to speak it fluently and John keeps telling me to learn it but as I keep telling him, I have enough jobs at the present and I don't have the time.

Han's been taking French and Spanish since she's been 6. It was an extracurricular activity at Primary School so we paid for her to have lessons. At High School, she did a term of French and Spanish and then they placed them in sets. They put her in French which she wasn't happy with as she favours Spanish so I spoke to the school and got her changed over. She really loves Spanish and I do hope she continues with it, however, when she gets to choose her subject options next year she is not required to take a language anymore if she doesn't want to.

No way has your delivery finally arrived! Hallejuiah!

:):):):):)

I'm on wind down today, although I'm not quite sure what to do with myself. Outside looks very blustery and dark and it feels like about 5 pm even though it's only half two! :scream:

It wasn't too bad weather wise here yesterday but it's a different story today, it's dark blowing a gale and raining. It's OK though it's not the heavy rain that knocks the signal out. :D
