Wow, never seen them??

Me either

A Guy
:D Well I watched the second one last night and enjoyed that as well. I told my daughter today that I'd started watching them, she already has them all and watched them when they were first out, she said they are good and they get darker. I like all the wizardry and special effects, as long as they don't turn into horror movies I'm OK, I'm not keen on horror movies like Kelly is.:(

I've never seen any of them either, I stopped all that when John made me watch Lord of the Rings for 3 hours and then told me there were another 2 films to watch! :tired:

I have watched the Fantastic Beasts one though which was really good, we used to get Han to watch Harry Potter films on the plane because they keep you engrossed for ages.

Hope you enjoy them Joan!

So today is not a good day.... you know it's not good when you go out for cake stuff then realise when you get back you have no plain flour and have to go back out again. Then when the cakes ready for the oven you wonder why it looks really runny, that's because you've forgotten to put the butter in! Then when you finally sort that and it's ready for the oven you realise it's not warm enough because you've set it to the wrong temperature. 🤔I think I need to go back to bed! 🛌

I'm hoping it's baked long enough otherwise I'm having a full-blown strop! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Oh dear it's not your day is it Angie, hope the cake was cooked or are you in that strop. :D

I've got the DVDs Lord of the Rings but haven't so far watched any of them but wanting to watch Harry Potter appealed to me for some reason.
I have a few DVDs I've not watched and others that I'd watched on video so started to replace them with DVDs as I didn't have a video player anymore. :)

I like all the Lord of the Rings. I remember reading the books as a child.

Just give everyone a spoon Angie :)

Another thing I missed out of during childhood was having books, only read what was expected for school, which wasn't that much. Had to wait for adulthood before getting a love of books and being able to start gathering books around me but none of the fantasy type and I still only have a limited area of reading styles. :(

Been a busy old day today, not quite sure what I have got done but it doesn't seem to be much on here. I've done the accounts, waited for my deliveries, been out for yet more baking ingredients and started to break in my new slippers. John got me some memory foam ones which are fab!

Off to settle down for the evening so I'll catch up properly with you guys tomorrow.

See you then. 👀

I read a ton as a kid, mostly Sci Fi. Brabury, Azimov, etc. I haven't read a book in decades though

I've got quite a few books on my Kindle and usually sit in the kitchen when I'm preparing and cooking a meal and read from that. Because I can't get to the library they come to me and bring me a selection each month, I can take what I want and have 4 weeks to read my choices. Library books are read last thing at night in bed before settling down and first thing in the morning while waiting for and then drinking my first coffee of the day brought to me by hubby. :D

I used to LOVE reading as a kid, Judy Blume books were my absolute favourite. I stopped reading into my late teens and then returned to reading books again in my thirties. I try and read a variety of books and have them on my Kindle and my phone. I used to read a little when on the school run and now it's generally when I pick Han up from somewhere I read from my phone.

I read the paper in the morning whilst she's getting ready for school and then if I manage to grab a minute anywhere without somebody wanting me for something I try and have 5 mins.

I like books that make me laugh, make me cry, take me on a journey or simply teach me something.

How many books do you get through in a week Joan?

These are the new comfy slippers that I've been breaking in.

They are soooooo comfy and have stopped the cold from entering my feet when I'm sat in the office. I should have got a red pair, I was a little unsure because they didn't have a back on them but the more I wear them the more they mould to my feet. john says they're my Christmas present. 🎅🤶

They do look comfy, at present I'm wearing enclosed men's slippers because I can get the width and they have a fleecy lining so in the evening I just slide my feet into them with the back down so they are just like slip-on's because my feet swell and make them too tight if I don't.

It depends on the size of the book how many I can read in the 4 weeks I have them, it usually works out about 1 a week. I used to have the Kindle App on my phone when I used to go out and read books during the bus ride when I went to the Co-op on a Friday, it was a 20 min journey each way so plenty of time for a read.

They're really comfy, I usually prefer backs on my slippers but it makes it much easier to slip these on and off when emptying the bin outside. I got a mark on them yesterday so I was frantically scrubbing them with a Dettol wipe to get it off. :lmao:

So what genres are you into?

The bus journey sounds like the perfect time to read them as long as you didn't get so engrossed you missed your stop. :scream: I used to love the 15-20 mins waiting for Han from school to have a little downtime and indulge for a little while. You had to get to school about 30 mins before otherwise you wouldn't get a space. Now I try and hide around the house if I want 5 mins but somehow they always find me. I think I need to find a cupboard to hide in.

I saw this today...

The trailer I saw also showed that Dick Van Dyke was in it too! :D

Having a lazy day today, we're just catching up on shows I've recorded through the week then later I'll watch the 3rd Harry Potter film. Earlier in the week I'd watched the first of the bonus CDs about how they started out and picked the cast etc. It was really interesting and I look forward to watching the others.
When I told Kelly I'd started watching the films, she'd already seen them all, she said they were good and they got darker, I like the special effects. :D

Well, we can forget the shower, spoke to Richard the contractor this afternoon, he's been laid up with a bad dose of flu which is why he'd not been round, he didn't want to pass it on, which is a good job not had my flu jab yet this year.

He said he'd had a good discussion with the grant officer and even though he could see all the arguments he told him that if he deviated from the works plan they would not pay out the grant.

I told Richard to forget it then, I wasn't prepared to go through the upheaval and mess to have one of the monstrosities the council wanted installed, it wasn't fair on the landlord to have the bathroom looking worse than it was now just to make it easier for me, after all, there's no knowing how many years more I'll be here and he wants his property in a good condition. I know he doesn't really want to lose the bath but would allow it if it was going to be something that looked good and not something you expect to see in a refugee camp.

Norman should be back from Russia tomorrow or in the next couple of days and I'll tell him the same, Richard has left him a message as well.

I just asked Han her favourite and she says The Prisoner of Azkaban, I had to Google it to know how to spell it! :lmao:

Oh, that's a shame about the bathroom but at least you're being fair, there's no point in having worse than what you already and I'm sure Norman will be pleased that his house can remain in one piece. when are you going for your flu jab? John's already had his.

So yesterday I finished making our friends Grandaughter's 1st birthday cake and then today I cleaned every inch of the house from top to bottom. I'd also put the slow cooker on with potato ash in it but even after 8 hours my potatoes were still hard! We ate the rest though, John didn't care that much as he doesn't eat them. I think I'll do Spaghetti Bolognese tomorrow, less faff and a fraction of the time.

That's the one I watched last night, watching the Goblet of Fire at the moment.

I think it's bothering John more than me about the bathroom, I said I'd just carry on and manage but he said there'd come a time when I couldn't manage. I'll worry about that if the time comes. :D

Weren't you the busy little bee, you'll meet yourself coming back if you're not careful. Hope the cake turned out OK, but then of course it would you made it. Enjoy your spag bol. :)
