Well, what a fangtastic evening we had yesterday on the Halloween Cupcake Workshop. It was very eerie, and there were definitely some spooky goings-on!

At first, some of my students thought I was a tad psychic because when they entered the room, I immediately looked over and called out their names. Little did they know they were my newest students hence the reason I knew who they were.

Jenny had already arrived, and the other ladies soon followed suit. So after quick introductions, I then spoke to the ladies regarding the evening's lesson and how we were going to proceed. Some of them weren't quite sure that they would end up with the creepy creations; however, I did assure them that they would each end up with their own individual designs.

I thought it would be best to start off demonstrating Dracula as he had the most amount of detailing to him, and then the rest would be of a similar nature, albeit in different forms and shapes. I was quite surprised that on the first attempt of doing Dracula's fang it went directly where it was supposed to go the first time and that never happens! :D

Once the first demos were over I then let the ladies get creative whilst I made a brew, we even had some hot vimto tonight too just to push the boat out. It's been ages since I've had that, but on these cold winter night's it makes you feel all toastie inside.

Once the drinks were distributed, I went on a walk around to see how the ladies were getting on. It always amazes me the uniqueness and creativity they come up with. Jacqui decided she wanted to create a thinking Frankenstein by raising his eyebrow, which I absolutely loved, so she left him like that, and Sarah decided she would have more of a friendly Frankenstein which was adorable. They were having great fun working on their different expressions, and this also helps them get used to making different types of faces too.

Once they had completed their first Halloween toppers, we then moved onto the second batch which were a little easier. We had a ghost, grim reaper and of course the token pumpkin, Gail wasn't sure she could do the ghost, but she was happy to have a go. I also advised the ladies that they could have a child-friendly scythe rather than the more adult version I had done with a cocktail stick. I advised them that to prevent a choking hazard for small children; I had made some brown wood grained icing so that they could make an edible handle instead. Jacqui loved making the grim reaper and even managed to incorporate some evil eyes into her design which I think is fab!

All the ladies had a great evening and made some lovely Halloween designs, I however in all the hurry to finish off forgot to take a picture of Julie's Cupcakes to add to the below creations.

Sorry, Julie, I'll make sure yours are first on my list on the next course.

We had a great evening and to top it off when I returned home I found that my daughter had left me this cupcake with a lovely message.
