We had a bit of a mix bag of people on this workshop which was great fun; unfortunately, some of my regular ladies couldn't make due to prior commitments although I had prior students and some new recruits, so it shook things up a bit as everybody was at different levels.

It was lovely to see Gail, and Linda (one of my Salford students there) her lovely friend Anne and her daughter Elizabeth. Abi was also another newcomer who had never done any cupcake decorating beforehand. We settled into the lesson once everyone had arrived and managed to work out where we were. Elizabeth was a great help with final preparations for setting up the room.

As always, I ran through the stages of how the lesson works and then proceeded with the first of a few demonstrations. I covered both Mother's Day and Easter on this course to give the ladies some ideas for both occasions. I started out with the easier decorations so as not to overload the ladies with different techniques all in one go.

The energy of the room was full of fun and laughter, Linda never warned me that Anne was such a character, and together they are absolutely hilarious. I think I'm going to recruit Elizabeth as my assistant as she is so polite and extremely helpful. She also put her own twist on the designs I had shown her which I love. I like people adding their own character to the creations they are making; it makes them more personal. Anne was amazed by her own hidden talents as she had never done any cupcake decorating or modelling before ever; she was only coming to be the chauffeur. Still, she decided at the last minute she wanted to participate. She was so excited by her own achievements, which gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

Abi was great with her decorations and made some lovely toppers for her cupcakes, she said I made it look easy but I think she did a marvellous job with her toppers as did Gail, I still lover her Shaun the sheep creation it is fantastic, it makes me giggle every time I see it.

It was a wonderful evening with great creations, fun and laughter, and we ran out of time due to all the joviality but did manage to finish off all the designs.

The ladies expressed their thanks for a wonderful evening, and I luckily managed to chase down Linda and the gang with their paperwork before they sped away.

Thanks for a lovely evening ladies it was much fun!

Here are your wonderful creations.
