Yes, that's right we are finally at that time of year when it's all about Christmas! :D

This is my favourite time of year when the weather cools rapidly, the dark nights draw in, the heating is on full blast, and you get to snuggle up with the wee ones.

Well yes, on any normal day that would be happening, but not this Monday, nooooooo....we were singing away and making Christmas magic in our lovely festive Workshop.

Well, we did after a bit anyway, to be honest, I was a little concerned at first as it was getting towards the start of the lesson and only a few people had shown up.

Lots of people on this course were new, so I wasn't sure whether they had forgotten or just didn't turn up. Anyway, I needn't have worried as just before the clock struck 7 faces started to appear out the window.

As they arrived I asked them to sit at the tables with their respective post-it notes, the reason being I'm not great on remembering everyone's name straight off, so it makes it much easier to identify people when I'm walking around.

I checked in with Danielle, Caroline and Angela and showed them the cupcakes that we would be making that evening. I showed them the ready prepared ones that I had made, and Angela asked if she could take these home. I advised her that she could although she would be a tad disappointed as they were done on cupcake dummies and not in fact edible to which they laughed.

Abi then appeared with her Auntie then followed by Kerry-anne, once most people had found their place, I decided to start the lesson.

I always like to start lessons on an easier note and then progress into the more in-depth designs rather than throwing people in at the deep end. People feel more at ease and relaxed rather than going into instant panic mode. The funny thing is when I started my dem it did go a little wrong in places, and I squeezed a little too much water onto a topper. Although you may think this is bad it is in fact a good thing as not only do the ladies see that these things do happen (even to me) they know what to do if they do!

As I proceeded to show them how to correct it, Lesley, Leonie, Eleanor and Charlotte appeared. Unfortunately for them, their sat nav had taken them into the unknown, and they were driving around housing estates getting lost. Needless to say, they didn't miss too much, and I continued with the demo. I proceeded to show them how to make the Polar Bear, Rudolph and the Snowman and showed them techniques to assist in their creations.

Once the first demos were out of the way, I put the kettle up and let Christmas Creations commence! There was plenty of chatter, laughter and a buzz filled the air. The Christmas workshop is my favourite by far and really gears me up into Christmas mode, the only thing that was missing was mulled wine but to be honest we didn't need it as there was plenty of Christmas cheer going on with out, next time perhaps I could metaphorically supplement the mulled wine for hot vimto's....now there's an idea! Fa la la la la la la la larrrr!

Here are the ladies getting creative!

During the second demo, the girls are clearly relaxed, and there are lots of giggles going on, I showed them how to do the pudding, Santa and the cheeky Elf and now the ladies are just really want to hammer down. Angela still has 4 to do and is not sure which Monday she may finish, she takes it all in her stride, and I told her I may kick her out after nine, she says what two minutes, and I say no maybe five past.

I also have to apologise to the ladies for straightening their cupcakes too, Danielle had placed her snowman slanted so that she didn't knock his bobble off, but I kept moving him straight to take a picture I did the same with Angela's too. :scream: They also informed me it was Caroline's birthday tonight, and my workshop was her treat, no pressure on me to perform then!

I'm glad I didn't know as I've never been anyone's actual birthday surprise before. Suffice to say Caroline was very happy with her present. The girls wanted to sing Happy Birthday to her and had I have known in advance; I would have happily obliged.

It's been a great evening once again and here are the lovely creations.

The ladies finished cupcake designs: 1. Kerry-Anne, 2. Abi, 3. Claire, 4. Lesley, 5. Leonie, 6. Eleanor, 7. Charlotte, 8. Danielle, 9. Caroline & 10. Angela.
