Chocolate Brownie, who doesn't love a chocolate brownie? This is a firm favourite with many of you, and the best thing about it is that you can eat it plain or dress it up with fruit and cream. The only thing you really have to decide on is how gooey you like it in the middle! With this Brownie Mix, I think I achieved the right amount of goo for the right amount of bake. So without further ado, on to the review! Packaging The Artisan's Choice Chocolate Brownie Mix is concealed in a robust plastic bag that is easy to wipe down on the exterior and is lined on the interior to keep the product dry and airtight. Labelling The labelling on the bag displays all the relevant information required, such as: Ingredients Allergy Advice...
So I'm back trying more of the Artisan's Choice Products, only this time we're reviewing the Plain Crème Cake Mix. According to the website, you can make a whole host of items with this product, including puddings, cakes, muffins, tray bakes, and more, so with a variety of options in mind, I opted for muffins and cupcakes. As you know, I'm very thorough in product testing so let's run down our usual info of things you need to know. Packaging The product arrived in a large brown paper bag that was silver lined on the inside, keeping the plain crème mix dry. The packaging was very sturdy and did not tear. Labelling The label displays all the relevant information required, such as: Ingredients Allergy Advice Storage...
Having never used any of the cake mixes currently on the market, I was eager to try out and test Artisan's Choice - Chocolate - Extra Moist Muffin Mix to see how it faired with bakes I normally make from scratch. I was sent this item for a fair and honest review so let's start putting it through its paces. Here goes... Packaging This Extra Moist Muffin Mix is in a plastic bag that is easy to wipe down on the exterior, albeit the packaging is quite large for the amount of product that's in it. However, I think they use the same bags for various other products, hence why the bag was on the large side. Labelling The label displays all the relevant information required, such as: Ingredients Allergy Advice Storage Item Code Weight...
I have recently been sent these Castle Chocolatiers Chocolate Drops to be reviewed and had great fun testing them out to see what they can do. With the bag being 2.5 kg in weight, it's allowed me to make many products and discover how versatile the chocolate really is. Packaging What is the packaging like? The packaging consists of sturdy brown paper to the exterior and is silver lined on the interior to keep the freshness of the chocolate drops. Labelling The bag is clearly labelled, showing all the relevant information required. Ingredients Cocoa Butter Content Allergy Advice Best Before Date Storage Nutritional Value Weight Size and Shape What are the sizes of the chocolate drops? Each chocolate drop varies slightly in...
I'm all about having various Impression Mats or Embossers in my Cake Box, especially when they come in handy when adding definition and bringing creations to life. So when I came across these Embossed Moulds as they call them and how cheap they were, I wondered if they were really worth a buy. To be honest, I usually stick with my go-to places for cake supplies, but after reading some of the reviews on these, I thought for a second and then did a quick impulse buy. So after using them, I pleased to report the following findings... How many designs are there? There are 9 in total. However, on the website, the patterns are described as: Brick Pebble Stone Wood Grain Bow Ties Flower Wall Heart Shapes What size are the embossers...
I have recently been looking for a Cake Stand to display my cakes in after baking and came across this Omada Design Tray with a Domed Lid. Packaging The cake stand came in a brown box with a plastic bag around the lid to prevent scratching or rubbing inside. I binned the exterior box and removed the packaging. I then washed it in hot soapy water and dried it with a piece of kitchen towel. (According to the product info online it is dishwasher safe). The cake stand is made from acrylic plastic and splits into two pieces. The base has a white coating on the bottom (similar to the finish of a plastic chopping board - this does not come off) and the lid is domed. Size The size of the base is as follows: The full base is...
I recently made some smashable hearts and needed a mould to set them in. As you may be aware, many large heart moulds are on the market at the minute, and they usually come in a set with a smashable hammer. However, you can also buy the smaller mould that has smaller sized hearts. I opted for the smaller version because you get six individual hearts in the mould, thus giving you the option to do multiple colours and designs in one go. Delivery & Packaging When the mould arrived, it fitted easily through the letterbox and was covered in a clear plastic bag inside the packaging. What material is the 3D geometric heart mould made from? The mould is made from 100% silicon. It's also non-stick and extremely flexible. Storage: Due...
Colour Mill dyes are the new fandangled export out of NSW Australia, and from what I'm seeing, people love them! According to the label, Colour Mill Dyes describe themselves as the 'Next Generation Food Colour' and to be quite honest, they're not wrong as they do exactly what it says on the tin, well the bottle anyway, but you get my drift! What's different about Colour Mill Dyes? The Colour Mill dyes are different from normal colour gels as they're oil-based, meaning they love anything with fat or oil in them! So much so they stick to it like glue and enhance every bit of your bake. They're great for use with: Buttercream Chocolate Cake Batter Candy Buttons Fondant/Icing Ganache Swiss Meringue and more... This is because Colour...
These PME Candy Buttons are a great addition to your baking cupboard; not only do they have the consistency of melted chocolate, but the buttons are pre-tempered, so all you have to do is melt and go! How to use. How do I use Candy Buttons? Please place them in a microwavable container and melt in 30 seconds bursts until melted. The pack advises lowering the temperature to half-power or using the microwave's defrost setting; however, I tried this, and they take longer to melt. Other melting options are: Using a Bain Marie or Double Boiler. This is where you put a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water and place the Candy Buttons in the heatproof bowl. The simmering water from the pan underneath will melt the buttons...
