This KitchenCraft Home Made Deluxe Stainless Steel Thermometer is a large thermometer with a height size of the 30cm x 5cm width. Due to its significant length, it can be used in both small and larger pans. It has an easy-grip plastic handle and a secure clip on the back of the thermometer to keep it in place while in use. For the thermometer to work effectively, it has to be immersed in the pan before heating and should be allowed to acclimatise with your liquids. The thermometer is free from mercury and has clearly marked gauges showing the setting points for jams and sugars. This will help you determine accurate consistencies such as softball, hardball, and soft crack etc. It also displays temperature points for both fish...
I have seen the FMM Fluffy Cloud Cutters for some time now and figured I would finally indulge in the purchase. The cutters arrived in a cardboard/see-through box and contained five different shaped fluffy cloud cutters. Inside the box, the illustration showed the cloud shapes, relevant cloud numbers and on the back of the packet listed instructions explaining how to use them. It does suggest that to obtain the best results; you should use modelling paste; however, I decided to use regular sugarpaste/icing/fondant to see how they would turn out. After rolling out the icing, I cut the clouds using each relevant cutter. I found that when I scored (moved back and forth) the cutter against the mat to get a proper cut, the cutter...
I have wanted to make peonies for a while now, so I decided to buy from the range of easiest cutters ever, because, let's face it, anything that saves us time whilst looking good on a cake is a definite winner in my book. After receiving the item via the post, I found included in the pack are two different sized peony cutters, a leafcutter and a picture of what the peonies should look like once you have made them. I then pre-washed the cutters in hot soapy water and left them to air dry before using them. Size The larger of the two cutters measures approx 16.5 cm length x 7 cm width. These measurements were taken on a diagonal at the largest and widest points of the cutter. The smaller cutter is 15.5 cm in length x approx 5.5 cm...
The Squires Kitchen Creative Food Colour product is gold metallic lustre dust that is used by chocolatiers and cake decorators alike. The pot size is approx 5cm tall and is filled with metallic dust or powdered food colouring as it is also known. The gold metallic lustre is a rich golden colour and lightly dusted over chocolates made a lovely addition to my cake. To apply the lustre dab a small paintbrush into the pot and then dab the excess onto a piece of kitchen towel, then lightly brush over the chocolate or icing fondant with the paintbrush, and this will create a sheen effect. The lustre dust is a versatile product and has many uses; it can be used as normal lustre to create a sheen on your cakes and creations. However...

This Heritage Bundt Pan is from the Nordic Ware range and is made in the USA. It is a robust tin that has been coated with a non-stick coating for easier cleaning and cake release. The pan dimensions are 25.5cm x 25.5cm x 9.5cm deep, and the packaging states that the tin is for 10 cups or 2.36 litres. It also comes with a Nordic Ware Limited Lifetime Warranty. Further care instructions are included and inform you that you should wash the tin before using it. I washed it in hot soapy water, rinsed thoroughly and then left it to air dry fully. It also gives you further hints and tips on how to grease the tin and includes a Lemon, Ginger and Pepper Cake Recipe. I've used this tin twice, and each time it has created a...
This moustache silicone mould is made by KitchenCraft and comes from their Sweetly does it range. The mould is good quality silicone, and there are two moustache designs within it. The pack does include six small lollipop sticks that are 3 mm thick and 7.4 cm in length, which are disposable after use. However, I chose to use some thicker and longer sticks for my moustaches that I had previously bought from Amazon. The mould size is approx 24 cm in length x 9.5 cm across. The moustache sizes are approx 6.5cm - 7cm in length and are 1cm in thickness. There are also grooves in the moulds to create a lifelike moustache pattern. Three of the moustache moulds raise upwards, and the remaining three turn downwards. Before filling...
Edible sugar balls that are used for multiple decoration purposes. They are slightly hard to the touch, hold their shape and can be easily picked up using your fingers or using a set of cake tweezers. These shiny edible balls are approximately 4mm in size, this pack is a Halloween mix and contains both orange and black sugar balls. They are also known as pearls or dragees in the USA. The sugar balls, pearls or dragees can be purchased in lots of colours and have many uses. They can be sprinkled over cupcakes, used as part of a border or used as part of faces or models. I find these particular balls to be useful as eye pupils when making models or edible toppers. They can be pushed directly into your icing fondant and can...
This is a review of the Zig Kuretake H2O Water Brushes / Pens. The pens are available to purchase in different nib thicknesses. There is the detailer tip, the medium tip and the large tip. The one displayed is a detailer tip and is approximately 2-3mm thick, although you can purchase the thicker nibs if you require. The water pen is approximately 150mm in length when the nib and pen top are attached to the base. They're easy to fill using either water or neat alcohol; in order to fill it, you need to continually squeeze or push the centre section of the pen where it says push. Squeeze it in and out between your thumb and forefinger; you will see the liquid gradually filling. Continue to do this until the base part of...
