This is a strawberry flavoured madeira cake, lightly covered in stock syrup for extra moisture. It is filled with strawberry milkshake buttercream and strawberry jam and then covered in white icing to base it, then re covered in claret coloured icing to give a lovely smooth finish. The ribbon on the ear is hand rolled poppy red renshaws icing and the swirl is fuschia renshaws icing also. The flowers on the board are claret coloured blossoms and the eyes are black renshaws decor icing. I decided not to cover the base of the board on this cake as it took away the impact the cake had. It actually stood out better on the silver board than when I tried to cover it.
